About to embark on our 6 week adventure.



This is my luxurious living situation. It actually is wonderful and I was thinking it would be a lot worse and we even get air conditioning at night! Life is great.

Amazing

I am alive and life cannot get much better! I am in the Dominican Republic and I have experienced some wonderful new things. The first thing that I experienced was a red eye flight. I left the Salt Lake City airport at 12:50 a.m. on Thursday and stayed awake until I went to bed that night. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out. I also swam in the ocean for the first time and tasted salt water. It was amazing. The water is so warm here and I never want to get out.

The people here are beautiful, and I am loving learning about the culture.

There will be more to come later along with pictures of all the amazing things that I am seeing!

Conformity

"People have a natural need to be part of a group, so they conform to the norms of the groups so they will be accepted and not rejected."

I conformed and joined the blogging world.

I want to say that I joined the craze because of Elder Ballard's talk, but reading my friend's blogs had a slightly more influencing impact on me.

Last semester, I took a Technology in Health Promotion class and we were to keep a blog on a health subject. This project and Elder Ballard's talk have taught me to use the vast amount of technology for good and to further the work of the Lord.

I am off to spend six weeks in the Dominican Republic! I thought that for these next six weeks I will have something interesting and worth while to share. I am very excited and nervous for this adventure and I hope that this will just be the start of my travels.
